Mission Statement

The mission of Beaver County System of Care: Optimizing Resources, Education and Supports (BC-SCORES) is to enhance the delivery of services to youth and their families through efforts that are collaborative, comprehensive, concerted, and to encourage a system of care that is youth-driven and family focused.

 

Vision Statement

  • BC-SCORES will be recognized as a premier collaborative, which is coordinated at the system-wide and service delivery level for youth who are involved with the juvenile justice system and who have a MH/DA or co-occurring disorder.

·        Youth and families will have complete information to enable them to make informed decisions and will be involved as full partners in the operations, planning and service delivery components of BC-SCORES and other providers.

 

·        Strategies to maximize prevention and early identification will be employed by the Beaver County system of care to promote healthy development and minimize the later onset of serious behavior problems which will result in a reduction in youth involvement with the juvenile justice system, lower rates of recidivism, and improved school success.

 

·        A broad and comprehensive array of social support services will be available to assist youth and families during and after their participation in the system of care.

 

·        BC-SCORES System of Care services will be tailored to meet the needs of each   individual and provided in a setting which is least restrictive and appropriate.

 

·        All family-serving agencies, system providers and families in Beaver County will have a greater understanding of the BC-SCORES system of care and embrace the system as a best practice in the provision of care to children and youth.

 

·        BC-SCORES will be viewed as an effective and efficient one-stop system of care for families and youth dealing with a mental health or substance abuse disorders, and full and open access to all services will be seen as a stepping stone to a better future.

 

·        BC SCORES will be recognized and highly valued as a comprehensive, collaborative and Culturally and Linguistically Competent (CLC) system of care that empowers families in designing, directing, and accessing services and supports that center on the health and emotional well-being of their children.

 

·        An increased demand for BC-SCORES services from the African American population will be the result of having in place a culturally competent outreach and service delivery system that is sensitive and responsive to the varying cultural patterns found in Beaver County.

 

·        In recognition of its high quality performance and its ability to achieve positive outcomes, BC-SCORES will be the beneficiary of broad-based public and philanthropic financial support needed to sustain its system of care for adolescents and families.

 

·        A strengthened collaboration in which BC-SCORES, its collaborating partners,  and key stakeholders which will demonstrate that they hold in common a great hope for the future well being of children, youth, and families
